Custom bow recliner mechanism for boats.
Installation Tips:
1. Make sure the area for the bow recliner mechanisms is fairly clean and dry.
2. Whether installing one or two units, layout the recliners on the deck so they are symmetrical to the pads.
3. Place the top edge of the cushion recliner approx. 2" down from the top edge of the pad, towards the bow.
4. The bow cushion should have equal overhang on the sides of the recliner, basically center the deck recliner.
5. Once located, mark the lower hinge holes with a Sharpie marker. Just in case they slide around.
6. Flip up the hinges and drill the holes though the deck, approx. 1/4" to 3/8" thick deck.
7. Squeeze the Life Calk sealant into the holes. Flip down hinges and screw tight.
8. Hold the angle stop bars centered in the slots, place bit into holes and drill though the deck.
9. Again, squeeze sealant into holes and screw tight.
Wipe up excess sealant and your done!
If using factory pads:
Once the recliners are installed and centered side to side under the bow cushion, a slight modification to the cushion will need to be done to allow the pad to fold up with the recliner. If you have a cord that slides in a track, mark the cord directly across from the base of the recliner. Cut the cord at this point and then only slide the lower section of the cord into the track. The upper section of the cord will remain outside the track. If you have snaps to to hold the outer edge of cushion down, simply undo the snaps to the base of recliner to allow the cushion to fold with recliner. Easy.
